At Saxon Packaging, we love to receive new enquiries that are different and that are for a good cause. This month we received an enquiry that really caught our attention.
Tracy Hendricks emailed us, informing us that her son Tommy (aged 13), from Lowestoft, had set himself the goal of joining a volunteering expedition to Cambodia with Camps International & Benjamin Britten Academy in the summer of 2021. His trip will include supporting charitable causes such as building classrooms, family homes & teacher accommodation. He will be involved in several eco projects to harvest rainwater, seed planting & nurturing of organic gardens, and will be working alongside the directly affected local communities.
To accomplish this goal, Tommy needs to raise £4080. To help raise funds towards this figure, he has begun selling sweets in shops and local businesses in and around Lowestoft. As a packaging company, we wanted to show our support to Tommy by providing him with some ‘Snack Appeal’ boxes that he could use to assist him with his campaign. Ben Watson, our Technical & Design Manager, took on the task of creating a bespoke box, using white E-flute corrugated cardboard that could be used to house Tommy’s sweets and store his donations inside.
On Friday 15th November, Dan Peek, presented, Tommy with 12 bespoke Snack Appeal boxes as a way of in-kind sponsorship, to assist him on his road to Cambodia.
“As soon as the enquiry came through, I immediately knew that it was something that the team at Saxon would want us to be part of. Hearing Tommy’s plans of raising money to travel to Cambodia and make a positive change in the world is something that really resonated with us. I and all the rest of the team here at Saxon Packaging wish Tommy the very best of luck.” Dan Peek. (Customer Service & Internal Key Account Manager).
