Over the many years we have been manufacturing corrugated packaging solutions we have only recently begun to shout about the amazing projects we are able to work on and share these with you.
In this blog we look back at a few packaging projects that we still think are worth shouting about:
(1) Ockham Razor – Mail-Order Packaging
In 2015 we were approached by Rob Hallifax and asked to supply packaging for his new innovative product. At the time Rob had received substantial support via a Kickstarter campaign and was able to start making his business come to life – The Ockham Razor Co.
Born out of desire to create a beautiful, simple razor that gives a great shave and is easy to use, The Ockham Razor Co. were looking for a box that would complement their great product so we discussed with Rob whether the packaging needed to be mail-safe, recyclable and which print finishes were they looking for. Once we had the answers to these questions we took pleasure in guiding Rob on which products would best suit his requirement.
The end result was a mail-order pack using 150 Kraft/150 Test E-flute and printed using one colour Flexo. The packaging was designed to fit the razor perfectly, protect it during transit and be appealing to the customer. “Packaging arrived this week. We’re thrilled with them!” said Rob.
(2) Sette Vie – Luxury Gift Packaging
Working alongside Celloglas and Mirri we developed a high end, luxury gift packaging solution for Italian liqueur producer Sette Vie.
Using the Mirri Eco AG’s metallic elements, we were able to achieve stunning results for the premium drinks gift packaging marketed by Boutique Brands giving it that on the shelf stand out when alongside competing brands.
Unlike traditional metalised products, the Mirri Eco Ag is 100% recyclable and repulpable and is ideally suited to the beverage and cosmetics industry, and any other high end product where gift boxes are required. This luxury gift packaging still catches our eye three years on!
In 2016 we were chosen by London agency Studio Fury to produce BRIT Awards after party invites for Universal Music. The party was jointly hosted alongside Soho House and over 800 celebrities (along with industry guests) were expected to attend.
We had never been asked to do something like this before and was certainly different to the usual packaging enquiries we receive. “We’ve been designing the after party tickets for Universal Music for over the last ten years and each year we look to challenge and push the boundaries of what the invite could be made out of” said Stephen Kennedy, Creative Director at Studio Fury.
Having short listed several suppliers, Stephen spoke with our in-house sales team and soon realised we were the company of choice. “Questions asked after making our enquiry reassured me that this company knew what they were talking about and gave me great confidence that they would deliver the high production values our client expects.” Said Stephen.
The invites formed part of an end-to-end experience for Universal Music guests and were printed using a silkscreen process, onto E-flute material which is one of the finer corrugated materials that we use at our factory in Lowestoft.
