We were approached by our existing and longstanding customer Picnic Box UK to supply 700 of their large picnic box. The box was to be finished with a silk screen print and would be used at this years’ Royal Ascot event.
We initially produced a digitally printed sample for Picnic Box UK to send onto their customer as they asked to see a physical example of where the print would sit on the carton. The artwork supplied by their customer made this process a little more complicated than usual but our design team were able to work their magic and an accurate sample was produced.
Following the sample being approved and receiving the order go ahead, we were given a very short turnaround time (given the processes involved) which many packaging suppliers would have struggled to meet.
Due to us having an existing cutting tool and a great working relationship with our screen print suppliers we were able to turn the project around and get 700 silk screen printed and die cut large picnic boxes made and delivered in just 6 working days, one day earlier than the given deadline!
This enabled British Fine Foods an extra day to pack their hampers for the Royal Ascot event and saved them the additional delivery cost for having a Saturday delivery.
The boxes were printed onto 185KG/150WTK B flute to ensure the box would be fit for purpose and strong enough to withstand its contents.
“Saxon Packaging came up trumps, especially Ben Watson who saw this project from start to finish. We are always impressed with the quality of boxes from Saxon and our customer (British Fine Foods) are extremely happy and impressed with their picnic boxes. The success of this project has led onto further enquiries for future events including Cheltenham Races. Thanks again to all at Saxon for your continued support and consistent quality products.” Steve Fairman, Director of Picnic Box UK.
