With the recent Royal Wedding celebrations we take a look at the picnic boxes we’ve manufactured over the last two years for Royal Ascot via our customer Picnic Box UK .
In 2016 we were approached by our longstanding customer Picnic Box UK to supply 700 large picnic boxes with a one colour print using the silk screen printing method. The boxes were to be used for the Royal Ascot event that summer.
We produced a digitally printed sample at first so their customer (British Fine Foods) could see a physical example of where the print would sit on the picnic box. The sample was approved and we were given just 7 working days to fulfil the order.
Luckily due to us having an existing cutting tool and a great working relationship with our screen print suppliers, we were able to turn the project around and get 700 silk screen printed and die cut large picnic boxes made and delivered in just 6 working days (one day earlier than the given deadline). This enabled British Fine Foods an extra day to pack their hampers and save one the cost of having a Saturday delivery.
The boxes were printed onto 185KG/150WTK B flute to ensure the box would be fit for purpose and strong enough to withstand its contents.
“Saxon Packaging came up trumps, especially Ben Watson who saw this project from start to finish. We are always impressed with the quality of boxes from Saxon and our customer (British Fine Foods) are extremely happy and impressed with their picnic boxes. The success of this project has led onto further enquiries for future events including Cheltenham Races. Thanks again to all at Saxon for your continued support and consistent quality products.” Steve Fairman, Director of Picnic Box UK.
