Lowestoft corrugated packaging manufacturers, Saxon Packaging, have been hand-picked by London design agency Studio Fury to supply BRIT Awards after party invites for Universal Music. The party is jointly hosted by Universal Music and Soho House, with 850 celebrities and industry guests expected to attend.
Studio Fury came across Saxon Packaging when looking for a manufacturer for their bespoke ticket design. “We’ve been designing the after party tickets for Universal Music for over the last ten years and each year we look to challenge and push the boundaries of what the invite could be made out of” said Stephen Kennedy, Creative Director at Studio Fury.
Following a detailed internet search Studio Fury came across Saxon Packaging’s new website and was instantly impressed by the range of packaging solutions offered and the detail provided.
“Given traditional packaging runs, our requirements were small, so there was some concern that some packaging companies wouldn’t be able to fulfil our order, we came across Saxon’s website and saw the range of print and packaging solutions available and that any quantity was a possibility – we instantly ran our job requirements past them.”
Having short listed several suppliers, Stephen spoke with the in-house sales team at Saxon Packaging and soon realised this was the company of choice. “Questions asked after making our enquiry reassured me that this company knew what they are talking about and gave me great confidence that they would deliver the high production values our client expects.”
The invites were to form part of an end-to-end experience for Universal Music guests. “Within the corrugated packaging is a screen printed diamond made from glow edge acrylic. A calligrapher will individually personalise each piece of acrylic for all invited guests” Stephen explained.
Ben Watson, Technical and Design Manager at Saxon Packaging said “we were delighted to be able to do something for a high profile event and help Studio Fury deliver a party invite that would stand out. The invites were printed using a silkscreen process to achieve good coverage and print registration, material used was E-flute which is one of the finer corrugated materials that we use at our factory in Lowestoft.”
There was a very tight deadline for Saxon to meet, which resulted in Operations Manager, David Medler, driving to the nearest TNT depot and dropping these off directly to ensure the delivery date was met.
“The client, fulfilment house and us at Studio Fury are extremely happy with the end result, the print finish is just as we hoped and the customer service we have experienced really has been great from initial enquiry through to delivery” Stephen added.
