After a year hiatus, we are pleased to announce that our ‘Saxon Festive Gift Boxes’ are back, and by popular demand! To celebrate the festive season and the end to another year, we’ve been known to encase our festive gifts for customers in our own bespoke packaging designs. In 2018, we chose to experiment with something different; but after feedback and to our customers wishes, it was clear to see that it was time to bring our festive premium wine bottle gift packs, back!
For this year’s theme, we decided upon a winter snowscape setting. Our Interim Marketing Executive, Granger Wittering, worked closely with a local illustrator who helped to produce the stunning packaging artwork that you see before you.
The artwork design takes inspiration from the very same multi-plane camera technique used by Walt Disney in his earlier filmmaking. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YdHTlUGN1zw The billboard artwork design features a snowscape background, a mirror lake, rocky shore line in the central layers and ice frost in the foreground, with the result being the sense of depth or parallax.
This year we really wanted to express our printing capabilities and our passion for producing luxury bespoke packaging. We chose to have the cartons litho printed for print quality, laminating a 190gsm silk paper to a lamination grade E flute in-house. To bring the packaging alive even further, we added a (velvet) soft touch film laminate, gold foil blocking, clear spot gloss UV, Hi-Build Tinted Spot UV on our ice frosting in the foreground, to go the extra-mile create a textured element to the packaging design. Our internal sales co-ordinator, Wayne, was one of several team members here who helped bring this packaging design to life.
“Working with Granger in the Marketing team, was an absolute pleasure. We knew we wanted to push the boat out with our print finishes this year, and to my delight, it was a very smooth process from start to finish. From the very beginning Granger knew exactly what he wanted to get out of the packaging design, and as a team, we saw it right through until the very end with minimal changes. I’m really thrilled with how they’ve turned out.” Wayne Bennett.
