The old saying that people are your greatest asset is one we, at Saxon Packaging, are happy to endorse. They are the heartbeat of our company and we believe we provide an enjoyable and welcoming place of work.
The majority of our office staff have been with us for over 10 years, our factory operatives and delivery drivers over 5 years with the most experienced having been with us in excess of 15 years.
We believe this longevity of employment shows commitment from both employer and employee. We are all committed, hard-working and above all honest with ourselves and our customers.
Whilst the hustle and bustle of a busy factory is well looked after by our experienced factory team, our office staff are on hand to answer any queries our customers may have. Sales Office Manager
Carly’s background of administration and customer service led her to find her current role at Saxon Packaging via a local recruitment agency. She has been part of the team since 2001, enjoys liaising with customers and seeing an enquiry go from initial requirement through to the manufactured product.
In her spare time Carly enjoys being with her husband and two sons. She loves to get out and about on her bike, but when the weather isn’t great she can be found at her local spinning classes.
Internal Sales Co-ordinator
Gail joined us in January 2016 kick starting us into the New Year. With her lifetime experience of working in manufacturing (which includes production planning and customer service) Gail really hit the ground running. She enjoys working at Saxon due to the variety of her role and the team work ethic with all departments working closely with one another. When she isn’t at Saxon she spends her spare time walking her dogs or meeting up with fellow a cappella singers in their local ladies group.
Internal Sales Co-ordinator
Wayne joined the Saxon Packaging team in 2015 seeking a new challenge in a dynamic and growing company. Day to day Wayne liaises with customers and the estimating & production team to ensure customer enquiries are raised, answered and carried through to production as efficiently as possible, whilst maintaining a happy customer.
Originally from Burton on Trent Wayne still flies the flag for his old local team Burton Albion, and when he isn’t ferrying the kids around or in the office he seeks enjoyment from watching or playing football and quality family time.
After working in the packaging industry for 10 years as an engineer and in external sales, Mike joined Saxon Packaging in 1997 to fulfil the Sales Executive role. After many years of sales success, Mike became Sales Manager in 2009 and more recently promoted to Sales Director earlier in 2016. Overseeing external and internal sales he also gets involved in designing and developing new packaging concepts for existing and new customers as well as being involved with most aspects of the business.
Originally from Norfolk, Mike now lives in Suffolk and when he isn’t out on the road meeting customers and generating sales, he can be found spending time with his family and trying to keep fit. When asked what he enjoys most working at Saxon Packaging he replied “going out to see customers, offering packaging solutions and intuitive packaging design”.
Business Development Manager
One of our newer team members, Adam has joined us from a background in technical sales and customer service. Having an interest in packaging, the process and variety, Adam jumped at the opportunity to join Saxon Packaging.
One of his favourite things of working at Saxon has been seeing a project go from a printed sheet right the way through to the finished product.
In his spare time he enjoys listening to a range of artists (including David Bowie and Led Zeppelin), spending time with his family and reading detective novels!
Business Development Manager
Chris joined the Saxon Packaging team in 2012 as Business Development Manager, with over 40 years’ experience in the packaging industry he was keen for a new challenge. He has worked at Senior Management level for major European paper companies and his knowledge has been invaluable in driving Saxon Packaging forward.
Chris enjoys visiting new and existing customers to discuss their packaging requirements and recommending solutions. In his spare time he has enjoyed Captaining his local Golf Club, listening to music as well as spending time with his family.
Business Development Manager
With over 30 years’ experience in the packaging industry (10 years in design and over 20 in sales) Stuart enjoys working with customers taking them from an initial idea, through the design process and to a finished product that is fit for purpose.
When not cheering on his football team Manchester City, Stuart enjoys taking his dogs for long walks and on the odd occasion has been known to do cartoon caricatures of family and friends.
Technical & Design Manager
In 1999 after completing his modern apprenticeship with another local packaging company, Ben joined Saxon Packaging as part of a company takeover. His initial role was CAD Room Assistant and he has progressed through a number of roles before becoming our Technical & Design Manager.
On a day to day basis Ben’s extensive industry knowledge enables him to be involved with all aspects of design, estimating, sales, purchasing and production. When he isn’t in the office, Ben can be found at his local Kuk Sol Won club, watching Motor Sport and spending time with his family.
Ai-Lien joined Saxon Packaging in 2005 following her graduation from APU (Anglian Polytechnic University) with a BA Hons in Graphic Design. Starting as the Company’s sample maker, she quickly established herself as our leading product designer.
She enjoys the daily design challenges, customer interaction and work environment at Saxon Packaging. When she isn’t at work, she can be found out and about with friends and family.
After finishing her degree at Bradford University in Engineering & Product Design, Sam moved back home to Beccles and researched local companies for a career that would match her newly acquired skills. She came across the opportunity at Saxon Packaging advertised in a local paper and joined the team in 2011.
Since 2011 Sam has started her own family, and lives with her partner and son. She enjoys the challenges her role at Saxon Packaging brings and the diversity of product design.
Sam joined our in-house design team in July 2016 as Design Assistant, an opportunity she felt would enable her to fully utilise her extensive design experience and expand on her packaging design knowledge. An Essex girl at heart Sam re-located to Suffolk in 2008 to work for a leading creative agency and enjoy the rural life. A huge fan of New York City and psychological thrillers Sam enjoys her latest hobby of snowboarding in her spare time.
Planning & Transport Controller
After 23 years of working in Essex at a Freight Forwarding Company as an Import / Export Controller for the Scandinavian Market, Sandra made the move to Suffolk to be closer to her family. She has stayed in the area (and at Saxon Packaging) since 2004 and lives locally with her youngest of three daughters.
When Sandra isn’t planning deliveries with clients and suppliers, she enjoys time with her family, shopping with her girls, and Grand -children, and even fits in time for a little bit of cycling.
One of Saxon Packaging’s first ever employees, Steve joined the team in 1987 and has been our Factory Manager for almost a decade. A local man, who in his spare time enjoys “fixing things” and being with his family and westie poodle Rocky (the company mascot). In the office he is the ‘go to’ man working very closely with our material suppliers and ensuring production deadlines are met.
Dave joined Saxon Packaging in 2013 as Operations Manager after a sideways career move from litho printing. Enjoying the daily cut and thrust of manufacturing he endeavours to keep everything moving, on schedule, and to the best quality. His passions are classic cars, spending time with his family and walks along the beach as long as there’s a cold pint at the end!
In 1996 Andy approached Managing Director Paul King on the off chance that a vacancy may be available at Saxon Packaging. Having initially thought this to be a temporary role, over 20 years later Andy is still with the company. Starting on the factory floor and progressing to Sample Maker, Office & Commercial Manager through to General Manager in 2006, Andy’s knowledge of varying aspects within the organisation has become invaluable to both the company and its customers.
Originally from Leicester, Andy has now settled locally and in his spare time enjoys being at the pool table with friends and spending time with his daughter.
Suzy joined Saxon Packaging in July 2015 as our Marketing Executive to work in continuing to drive the business forward. Coming from a digital marketing background, with a touch of offline communications, Suzy previously had spent a number of years working for a London & Midlands based marketing agency and Norwich creative agency after relocating back to Suffolk.
Looking to place her energy into just one organisation, her day to day challenges include raising Saxon’s brand profile both online and offline, and implementing their marketing strategy. When she’s not in the office she enjoys socialising with her friends, running along the broads and attending Yoga classes.
Supporting our Finance Manager, Paul joined the Saxon Packaging team in 2012 as Accounts Assistant. Having worked for the local magistrate’s court, Paul was looking for a part-time opportunity and heard about the vacancy from a friend already employed by Saxon Packaging. When Paul isn’t looking at numbers, he’s watching Norwich City at Carrow Road, and spending time with his family.
Trevor joined Saxon Packaging in 2010. Having worked for a large manufacturing company, he was looking for a role at an SME where his full skill set would be better utilised. On a day to day basis Trevor (a qualified Certified Accountant) manages all things financial putting to good use his accountancy training. When he isn’t in the office he enjoys spending time with his family, or he can be found at his local golf club or in the stands at Norwich City Football Club.
